BBMP Property Tax Online Payment: To pay the tax online, all you need is your old and new PID numbers or the base application number. Once you have these details, you can go to the BBMP site and enter them to retrieve the details of the tax due on the property and instruction for paying it online.

How To Choose Your Zone The zone classifications have been revised this year and tax rates have been changed. All areas in the city have been classified into 6 zones for tax purposes. The classifications go from A to F, with A being the zone that has the highest taxes.
You can use the BBMP website to find your previous and current classification ( and ). When you are filing your property tax online, you will be asked for the Cap on Zone. Here you need to enter the zone based on how it has changed. For instance, if your old zone was E and your new zone is C, you have obviously been pushed up two zones. However, only one upgrade will be taken into account.
So, you need to enter zone D in the Cap on Zone field. And if your zone has been downgraded, you have no choice but to enter your old zone and pay higher taxes (no one seems to be questioning this!).
You Can Still Use the DD Way If you still want to pay your taxes by cheque or Demand Draft (DD) you will need to visit a Canara Bank branch. The BBMP has tied up with Canara Bank for collecting property taxes in the city.
There are 175 branches in Bengaluru that accept property tax payments. But in order to pay at the bank you will need to get a challan. Remember to fill up the challan before you stand in the queue for paying your taxes. You have the option to print the challan online by accessing the Sampanmoola BBMP site. You can also use the BBMP site for printing your application. Note that the bank will issue immediate receipts only for cash and DD payments. If you make a cheque payment you might have to wait for the cheque to get realized to receive the receipt.
